How does Wachtwoordje create a password?
Your password is created in your own browser and is never sent or stored. Wachtwoordje uses your device's random number generator (Web Crypto) and picks every character separately and at random. So there is no pattern for anyone to guess.
How long should a strong password be?
For accounts, at least 16 characters with letters, numbers and symbols. Wachtwoordje makes 20 by default: about 128 bits, far beyond reach of anyone trying to guess it. Longer is fine, up to 64 characters.
Do I need to remember this password?
No. A random password is for pasting, not for remembering. Keep it in a password manager, like the one in your browser or phone, and use a different password for every site. A breach at one site then leaves the rest safe.
